Becoming among the first in the industry with dual Matter certification from both Apple and Samsung
Shelly Group announced that two of its latest devices, Shelly Plug S MTR Gen 3 and Shelly Outdoor Plug S Gen 3, have officially received the “Works with Apple Home” certification. This milestone confirms their full compatibility with Apple’s ecosystem and compliance with the Matter protocol, ensuring advanced security, interoperability, and seamless user experience.
Industry-First Dual Matter Certification
The two products are the first Shelly devices authorized to carry the Apple certification badge. They are also already certified under Samsung’s Works with SmartThings (WWST) program for Matter. This makes them among the first smart devices in the industry to achieve dual Matter certification from both Apple and Samsung.
Seamless Integration with Apple Home
By meeting Apple’s strict certification requirements, the devices allow effortless integration with the Apple Home app and Siri across compatible Apple devices. Both plugs successfully passed the official certification process of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), validating their full Matter functionality.
Preparing for the Next Generation
Shelly also confirmed that all upcoming fourth generation (Gen4) devices, scheduled to launch later this year, will arrive with Matter support built-in. This reinforces the company’s long-term strategy of delivering solutions that are secure, interoperable, and ready for the future of smart living.
